Busy Year Ahead for Kinsale History Society
Posted by Kinsale Newsletter on Wednesday 10 February 2016

Kinsale History Society has a busy itinerary planned for 2016 with, of course, a focus on the forthcoming 1916 Centenary. Dermot Ryan will give a talk on 'Kinsale in 1916' at the Active Retirement weekly gathering in the Temperance Hall on Tuesday 16th February next at 2.45pm.
The Temperance Hall will once again be the venue for a lecture on the 1916 Rising by Dr. Gabriel O'Doherty, History Department, UCC. This will take place on Sunday 21st February at 8pm. March 28th will see the unveiling of the 1916 Memorial in the Town Park at 12 noon. Other events include an illustrated lecture by John Collins on 'Revisiting Casement's Aud' on April 7th in Actons Hotel at 8pm and 'West Cork, the People and the Place' by Alannah Hopkin on May 5th, again at Actons Hotel. Keep an eye out locally for updates on events throughout the year.
