Kinsale Turns Pink!
Posted by Kinsale Newsletter on Monday 7 October 2019

Yesterday saw Kinsale community spirit at its very best with the 8th annual Kinsale Pink Ribbon taking place in the town. Hundreds of ladies, men and children gathered to walk and run to raise funds for Action Breast Cancer, a cause that is very close to many in the town.
Kinsale turned pink for the occasion, with pink bunting, flags and fabulous pink window dressing evident throughout the town. Businesses and individuals stepped up once again with tremendous sponsorship, the highlight being a raffle for a Four Ball at the Old Head of Kinsale Golf Links and a stunning Morganite and Diamond ring from Linda’s of Kinsale.
Glorious sunshine and many supporters accompanied the participants along the scenic route from the town centre to Ballinacurra, Whitecastle and back along the Marsh and the World’s End. As with recent years the closing ceremony was held in Actons Hotel, led by Sharon Crosbie who was accompanied by Kinsale Voices, an emotional experience for many of those present who have lost loved ones to breast cancer or who have themselves been touched by the illness.
Well done to the organising committee, led by Fiona O’Mahony, who did a wonderful job uniting Kinsale to fight against Breast Cancer.
