President Michael D. Higgins to visit Kinsale Community School

It has just been announced that the President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins, is set to visit Kinsale Community School on November 14th 2019. During the Presidential visit the President will unveil a sculpture of the 1916 Proclamation which is a beautiful feat of engineering commissioned by the school from Graepel Engineering in Kinsale.

During their visit the President and First Lady will also unveil two respective plaques on the Kinsale Community School Wall of Fame and this will coincide with the designation of the 'Michael D Higgins Hall' within the building.

The President will address the entire school community and invited guests in the new school sports hall before he launches Kinsale Community School as a Microsoft Showcase School in the newly refurbished digital hub at Kinsale Community School.

Fergal McCarthy, Principal of Kinsale Community School, has said that the entire school community is very excited by the news of the Presidential visit. He remarked that this is a truly historic occasion for the school in particular now that all of the construction work for this remarkable facility is now complete.
