Until We Walk Again
Posted by Kinsale Newsletter on Thursday 7 May 2020

The Darkness into Light Walk was due to take place on May 9th this year, however due to the current national emergency the event has been cancelled. In order to mark the date, next Saturday at dawn our emergency vehicles will drive through Kinsale as a symbolic run in aid of Pieta House, and to act as a beacon of hope highlighting the fact that mental health support services are available in our community to anyone who needs them at this difficult time. KYSS Youth Health Worker, Ger Rice can be contacted on 085 872 5789.

We would ask you to continue to support our community by adhering to the social distancing guidelines by not walking, running or gathering along the Darkness Into Light route this year. Kinsale Youth Support Services encourages you to support the Pieta House Sunrise Appeal by getting up at 5:30am to watch the sunrise, and to show community solidarity with those in need by standing in your doorway to shine a light in the darkness. This light will symbolise that although we are in the midst of the most difficult and unprecedented times, we will endure and we will witness brighter times ahead. Pieta House are also asking people to donate to their services which are needed more than ever at this time, and to spread the message and offer hope by sharing their sunrise moments using the #DIL2020 & #kyss.ie

Please continue to support our community by adhering to the COVID 19 Social Distancing guidelines.
