A Midsummer Night's Dream

Lord, what fools these mortals be!
Kinsale Campus Drama Students are currently preparing for their performances of A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare which will take place in Ballinspittle Community Hall in May.
Directed by Belinda Wild A Midsummer Night’s Dream is said to be Shakespeare's funniest and most bewitching play. It almost beggars belief that a script scribbled with a quill in the 1590s could be so completely accessible and meaningful to a modern audience. This comedy of lovers with tangled heartstrings tripping over the fairy kingdom in a moonlit forest is packed with enchantment, theatricality and pythonesque surrealism. Featuring a lover’s quarrel to end all lover’s quarrels, Puck’s mischievous bungling and a terrible actor being turned into a lovesick ass, this play is as immortal as a piece of theatre can be.
Performances take place on Friday and Saturday May 6th and 7th at 7.30pm and Sunday May 8th at 2.30pm. Tickets are available at the door but can be reserved on 086 107 7230 and cost
€12, €10 concessions, Family ticket €25.
