Less than six months to go! Kinsale Arts Weekend committee is already busy with preparations for our 2022 programme, Festival Dates are now fixed for July 7th to July 10th.
We are busily recruiting to our ever critical volunteer programme. See recent Kinsale Advertiser and our Instagram postings for more info!
We are already hugely thrilled to announce that Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, Paul Muldoon, will feature in our programme this year. Paul will read from his latest collection “Howdie Skelp” and will also host a workshop with our most talented emerging poets.
Legendary blues and jazz singer, Mary Coughlan is also confirmed for July 9th at the White Lady Jazz club venue.
As a community arts festival, the involvement and participation of the local community is a key objective for the Kinsale Arts Weekend team. In 2022 the festival will showcase
the “Ebb and Flow” exhibition from our local Kinsale College and Kinsale Community School Transition year students will play a huge role in ensuring local students are aware of and participate in the festival through the creation of a series of podcasts designed to spread the word across the student community. Community school students are also helping to design the 2022 festival poster.
2022 will also see a new collaboration with the Cork Migrant Centre to build a unique portfolio of cross cultural events and experiences.
As always the festival will provide an opportunity for local talent to showcase their stunning work across all art disciplines.
