International Women's Day to be celebrated in Kinsale
Posted by Kinsale Newsletter on Monday 27 January 2020

International Women’s Day (IWD) will be marked in Kinsale for the first time ever with a Festival to inspire and celebrate women and their achievements. Widely celebrated around the world, IWD, will be held on March 8th 2020 with the aim of raising awareness and talking about factors surrounding life as a woman in today’s world. The organisers of the event in Kinsale hope to attract attention and business to Kinsale in the lead up to the event and on the day itself.
Taking place in the Trident Hotel, International Women’s Day Festival will be a day of showcasing local women in business as well as businesses providing female centred support, and also offering talks and workshops on health and wellbeing, sustainability, parenting support, building and developing business. The theme of IWD this year is #EachforEqual
The event will run from 11am to 5pm on the day and will be based in 4 rooms in the Trident Hotel. The large room in the hotel will be set up as a marketplace with stalls with goods to sell or services to market and plenty of tables for the participants to mingle and meet. There will be a further three rooms set up to run talks and workshops throughout the day available to all ticket holders. This will be a paid ticketed event and a good turnout of people from a wide demographic and interests is anticipated.
Keep an eye out locally for further details over the coming weeks.
