You've voted for Kinsale as No. 1 Foodie Town, now it's time to vote for Janey Mac's who have been shortlisted for Ireland's Best Scone! Run by Goodall’s - the Irish brand that’s renowned for its high quality range of flavourings, colourings, herbs, spices and seasonings  - Ireland’s Best Scone has been running for three years and, year-on-year, the competition has increased in terms of both nominations and votes.
Janey Mac have been recommended by their customers as one of the top ten places where you can enjoy Ireland’s Best Scone and will now be competing in the final for the national title.
It’s now over to the public and a select judging panel to decide which establishment is the proud owner of Goodall’s Best Scone!
Co-owned by Cyril Keegan, Janey Mac in Kinsale has built up a steady and loyal customer base. Asked what makes their scones so special, Cyril commented:
“We use good quality ingredients and always have a seasonal fruit variation to go with the traditional fruit and plain scones”.
From Monday 26th May until Friday 6th June, you can vote for your favourite café on the Goodall’s website with the public vote accounting for 50% of the overall score.

The remaining 50% of the score will be awarded by a judging panel which includes Paul Kelly, Executive Pastry Chef at The Merrion Hotel; Sophie White, Columnist and Scone enthusiast; Food blogger, Sheila Kiely from www.Gimmetherecipe.com; Fiona Dillon, author of ‘Food from an Irish Garden’ and Roisin O’Shea from Goodall’s.
Ireland’s Best Scone will be announced at a celebratory high tea for finalists in Dublin’s Merrion Hotel. The winner will receive €1,000 and a specially-commissioned ‘Best Scone 2014’ plaque for their eatery or outlet. Go on… vote No. 1 Janey Mac!
