Posted by Kinsale Newsletter on Monday 9 July 2018

Kinsale Arts Weekend - arts, culture and music by the sea - will take place from Thursday, July 19th, to Sunday, July 22nd. Visitors can expect a wide ranging programme filled with live music, visual art, theatre, literature, poetry, history, photography, dance and family events.

The weekend provides a platform for showcasing local talent. There are many short free events that are located in quirky locations around the town.

Art is displayed in the windows of many of Kinsale's shops and restaurants as part of a walking gallery. Some of the bigger events include, Declan O'Rourke in The Trident Hotel on Sunday night. Also, the studio of world renowned furniture designer Joseph Walsh will be open to the public with hourly tours organised from 10am to 4pm. Further, this year is a special year as it is the 30th anniversary of Giles Norman Gallery, which is being marked by an exhibition in The Old Mill.

There is a wide range of events for children, including writing and art workshops, and a Harry Potter quiz. There is even an event for babies organised by Classical Kids which will take place in the Temperance Hall. Expect some great theatre from the Kinsale Ramparts Players, when they perform extracts from Harold Pinter plays in the Tap Tavern.

For further information see Kinsale Arts Weekend Facebook and Instagram pages and the Box Office will be open from noon on Saturday 14th July in Victoria Murphy's, the Short Quay.
