Kinsale Christmas
Posted by Kinsale Newsletter on Sunday 22 November 2015

Just like Santa's elves at the North Pole the elves on the Kinsale Christmas Committee have been beavering away all year getting ready for the Kinsale Christmas festival!
On Sunday November 29th at 5pm the official turning on of the Christmas Lights will take place at the Town Park and a very special visit from Santa Claus, who is taking some time out from his busy schedule at the North Pole, is anticipated. Kinsale Fire Station officers are stepping in to bring Santa to Kinsale as he doesn't want to tire his reindeers out before the big day on December 25th.
DJ Mark Wilson is kindly donating his services at a free Family Disco in Actons Hotel after the main event.
Each year the committee adds wonderful attractions to the town and this year is no different with the introduction of a Floating Crib which they have installed, with the co-operation & kind permission of Kinsale Yacht Club, on the Marina. The Crib will be lit by night, adding wonderfully to the Christmas atmosphere.
This year, in addition to lighting the Mast and Tree in the Park, a new 6 metre tree, kindly sponsored by Examiner Publications, will be installed very kindly by Barry Ryan in front of Centra.
In a touching gesture, the Star on the Mast will be dedicated to the late Eileen Murphy, who was a much-loved and involved member of the community.
Santa at The Mill continues for a second year following last year's success. Tickets are selling fast on www.kinsalechristmas.com. There is a new twist on last year's theme with plenty to engage the little ones. Friday evenings have been added along with Saturday and Sundays pre Christmas.
It is hoped that once again this year the town will have free parking every weekend in December, watch this space!
Kinsale Christmas Committee is a voluntary group of locals and businesses who love Christmas and their town. To get involved see Facebook - KinsaleChristmas.

Don't forget Super Saturday on November 28th with many shops offering discounts on the day, see the Kinsale Advertiser for details.
