Registration is now open for the 2016 Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk that takes place on Sunday 17th April at 12noon. This is the fifth sponsored 10k walk/run in Kinsale to benefit Action Breast Cancer, a programme of the Irish Cancer Society.
Sharon Crosbie, singer and Ambassador for the Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk, lent her support at the Information and Registration Day in Kinsale on Saturday 20th February that was well supported by many locals. Sharon was joined by volunteers from the Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk Committee and volunteers from The Irish Cancer Society.
“The purpose of the Pink Ribbon Walks is to both raise awareness and funds for Action Breast Cancer and, importantly, to show solidarity and offer support to family and friends affected by cancer,” said Fionnuala McCarthy, Chairperson of the Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk Committee.
“Last year, over 1,000 walkers raised over €96,000 for the Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk. It is a fantastic community event where so many people get involved. We love to welcome walkers and runners from all over Cork and further afield to enjoy a wonderful day in Kinsale, supporting Action Breast Cancer.”
For information and registration see www.pinkribbonwalk.ie and registration forms also available at Collins Kinsale Pharmacy, Kinsale.
