Michelin Bib Gourmand for Bastion!
Posted by Kinsale Newsletter on Friday 18 September 2015

Kinsale restaurant Bastion has been awarded a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2016 just published.
Michelin Bib Gourmand awards recognise those establishments that offer good food at affordable prices of €40 or less for a three-course meal.
Bastion is the second establishment from Kinsale to feature in the guide, joining Fishy Fishy who has retained its Michelin Bib Gourmand status from previous years.
Having opened less than a year ago, Bastion serves food with distinctly Mediterranean influences and is located at the junction of Market Street and Main Street. The spacious Fishy Fishy restaurant on Crowley's Quay, serves the freshest catch and local produce with an outside area for al fresco dining during the summer months.
Speaking at the launch of the Michelin Guide, editor Rebecca Burr said: “Stars and Bib Gourmands are annual awards. Each year we seek out new candidates and reassess our existing award restaurants. Consistency is a key part of our selection process and it is important for our readers that the standard of cooking is maintained”.
The Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2016 – produced by leading tyre manufacturer Michelin – is published today, priced at EUR16.99.
Congratulations to Paul and Helen on their first Bib Gourmand!
