Last Friday, October 18th, Kinsale Community School had the distinct honour of welcoming Minister for Finance, Jack Chambers, for a special visit following his participation in the Kinsale Lions Club’s 'Budget Breakfast' event.
Minister Chambers was greeted warmly by the school’s Head Girl, Ellie Coughlan, and Head Boy, Mark O’Driscoll, along with KCS students and staff members. The Minister took the opportunity to engage with the students, learn about their academic experiences, and explore the wide range of both curricular and extra-curricular activities that the school provides.
During his tour, Minister Chambers visited various areas of the school, including the beauty salon, podcast studio, school credit union, MyGug, theatre, greenhouse, coffee truck, and the VEX robotics team and arena. Additionally, he spent time in the Rang Réalta and Rang Rita classrooms, gaining insight into the unique and diverse educational environment that Kinsale Community School offers.
Speaking about the visit, Principal Fergal McCarthy noted: “We were delighted to host Minister Chambers and showcase the innovative learning experiences our students engage in daily. His interest in our school’s diverse programs further highlights the importance of creating well-rounded educational opportunities for our young people.”
